AAP
The Australian trade balance went into surplus in March, the Australian Bureau of Statistics says.
The balance of goods and services was a surplus of $1.74 billion in March, seasonally adjusted, from a downwardly revised deficit of $87 million in February.
Economists' forecasts had centred on a surplus of $500 million in the month.
During the month, exports were up nine per cent in adjusted terms, while imports were up one per cent, the ABS said on Tuesday.
